for the entire programme which also featured the Overture to the Creatures of Prometheius, by Beethoven, and Schubert's Unfinished Symphony. There were many moments when the orchestra literally sparkled under his direction.

is a Canadian composer and conductor and has conducted over 1,000 performances, composed choral, chamber, and orchestral works,
written more than a dozen scores for plays, and served as Music Director of the Shaw Festival for ten years. In 1998 he finished an unfinished Gershwin musical for the Estate of George and Ira Gershwin
to mark the centenary of George Gershwin's birth. Most recently, on February 15th of this year he appeared as guest conductor with the Victoria Symphony conducting an all American music programme of Samuel Barber, George Gershwin, and Aarob Copland.
